HYDERABAD

Chennur MLA and Labour and Mines Minister G. Vivek Venkataswamy warned that strict action would be taken against anyone attempting to incite violence in the Chennur Assembly constituency, following the BRS-CPI alliance winning the posts of Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson of Kyatanpally municipality during a special meeting held to conduct the elections on Saturday.

Addressing the media at his camp office in Chennur after the election, the Minister strongly criticised the conduct of former BRS MLA Balka Suman, stating that the latter had not changed his behaviour despite losing the election from Chennur Assembly constituency.

Mr. Vivek said that the Congress party remains committed to conducting elections democratically. He said that the Congress had extended full cooperation from the beginning of the election process. However, certain BRS leaders attempted to malign the party for political gains and, in the process, even attacked his convoy, he added.

Assuring development, the Minister said that the Kyatanpally municipality and the Chennur constituency would be developed across all sectors. He also congratulated the newly-elected Chairman and Vice-Chairman of Kyatanpally municipality.
