The teaser for the film Rama from Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, was recently unveiled during a special screening held in Los Angeles. During this event, Ranbir Kapoor interacted with the media and fans. Ranbir plays the character of Lord Ram in this film. Speaking on the occasion, Ranbir candidly discussed Sai Pallavi, who plays the role of Sita and Yash, who portrays the character of Ravana.

Ranbir Kapoor stated that the decision to cast Sai Pallavi as Sita was absolutely spot-on. He remarked, ‘The day I saw Sai Pallavi as Sita, Nitesh Sir and I instantly realised that there could be no one better suited for this role than her. Sai is an incredibly talented actress.’
Ranbir’s opinion on Yash
During the interaction, Ranbir also offered his perspective on Yash in the role of Ravana. Ranbir noted that Yash possesses true stardom, and his commanding personality and screen presence make him the perfect fit for a powerful character like Ravana.
The Ramayana teaser
The teaser offers only a fleeting, blurred glimpse of Sai Pallavi as Sita, while showcasing a magnificent sequence featuring Ravana’s Pushpak Vimana (celestial aircraft) with Yash seen walking towards it. The first look of Ram has already been released, leaving fans highly excited. This teaser was officially launched in India on April 2, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of Hanuman Jayanti.
About the film Ramayana
Ramayana has been produced in the IMAX format and is slated for a worldwide release. The film will be released in two parts. The first installment of Ramayana is scheduled for release during Diwali 2026, followed by the second installment during Diwali 2027. The film features a star-studded cast including Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Sunny Deol, Ravi Dubey and Yash. The producer of the film is Namit Malhotra and Ramayana has been directed by Nitesh Tiwari.
