The Transport Department delisted the RTA m-Wallet, an app that stores important documents such as driving licences and vehicle registration, from App Store and PlayStore.

According to Transport Department officials, the move is a part of the Telangana government’s move to adopt and integrate with its systems with Sarathi and Vahan platforms. While the Sarathi portal deals operations for learner’s and driving licences, renew or duplicate existing licences, and update personal information, the Vahan portal handles vehicle registration, fitness, taxes, and permits.

“We have received some informal queries about RTA m-Wallet. For the past several months, the [Transport] Department data is being integrated with Vahan and Sarathi. DigiLocker will be a part of this where documents such as driving licenses can be saved,” a Transport Department official said.

It was on March 23, that Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar inaugurated the Vahan portal. This marked the State’s integration into the national vehicle database. The move, he had said, marked the adoption of modern technology essential for efficient data management and government.

Meanwhile, the Transport Department on Thursday announced that it had generated a total revenue of ₹7097.38 crore during the financial year 2025–26. This marks a growth of 2.70% over the previous fiscal.

The department said that as against a total revenue target of ₹8,535 crore set for the same period, the department achieved 83.16%, amounting to ₹7,097.38 crore.

They added that a significant share of the revenue came from life time tax collections, which stood at ₹4,714.63 crore. This was followed by quarterly tax at ₹961.02 crore, fee and service charges at ₹820.09 crore. Challans constituted ₹310.80 crore. Enforcement activities such as inspections, accounted for ₹212.49 crore, and Green Tax collections stood at ₹78.35 crore.

The department also reported that 91,637 electric vehicles were registered during 2025–26. With the Telangana government’s initiative of waiving off life tax, thiese waivers amounted to ₹769.81 crore.
