Super Chennai has conferred its ‘Icon of the Month’ recognition for March 2026 on V. Kamakoti, Director of Indian Institute of Technology Madras, in recognition of his significant contributions to technological innovation, academic leadership, and nation-building.

The honour recognises Prof. Kamakoti’s role in strengthening India’s research ecosystem, advancing indigenous technology development, and positioning IIT-Madras as a globally respected hub for innovation and interdisciplinary excellence.

Under his leadership, the institution continues to drive research-led growth, deep-tech entrepreneurship, and nation-first innovation. Instituted by Super Chennai, the ‘Icon of the Month’ initiative celebrates individuals who are shaping the city’s growth, and global identity through leadership, innovation, and social impact.
