Three persons were killed in a tragic road accident at the NH flyover near Krishna Nagar junction in Kurnool around midnight on Tuesday (March 24, 2026). Police said a youth, Kummari Sekhar, was first hit by a speeding lorry while he was riding his motorcycle and was left critically injured on the road.
As local residents rushed to rescue him, another lorry rammed into the group, killing two of the rescuers on the spot. The deceased were identified as Kanna and Chinna. Sekhar also succumbed to his injuries, taking the death toll to three. Two others were also injured.
The incident caused panic in the area, with traffic briefly being disrupted. Police shifted the bodies to a government hospital for postmortem and registered a case. Efforts are on to identify and trace the vehicles involved in the accident.
