Six individuals were arrested with non-duty paid liquor bottles worth ₹4.5 lakh in an operation carried out by the Telangana Prohibition and Excise Department at Pahadisharif crossroads. Several vehicles used in transporting the liquor were also confiscated during the raid.

The inspections, conducted from 9 p.m. on Tuesday to 9 a.m. on Wednesday, were part of a special drive against non-duty paid liquor initiated by Enforcement Director Shanwaz Qasim.

The Rangareddy Enforcement Teams, led by AES Jeevan Kiran, stopped vehicles entering Telangana from other States and recovered 88 liquor bottles hidden in cars arriving mainly from Goa, Haryana and Meghalaya.

The seized liquor and those arrested were handed over to the Saroornagar excise station, where a case has been registered.

Those arrested will be served notices by the department.
