On the occasion of Vishwakarma Jayanti, political leaders across Andhra Pradesh extended greetings and paid rich tributes to Lord Vishwakarma, revered as the divine architect and symbol of skills and craftsmanship.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu conveyed his wishes, describing Vishwakarma as the source of creation and all vocations. He expressed hope that with the blessings of the deity, people would excel in their professions and families would prosper with happiness and development.

Former Chief Minister and YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy marked the occasion at the party headquarters in Tadepalli, offering floral tributes to the portraits of Bhagwan Vishwakarma and Goddess Gayatri.

He was joined by senior leaders including MLCs Ramesh Yadav, Lella Appi Reddy and MLA Virupakshi. Party leaders highlighted Mr. Jagan’s welfare initiatives for artisan and BC communities, including the creation of 56 corporations, scholarships, fee reimbursements and financial aid. They contrasted these with what they called neglect under the current coalition government.

Meanwhile, the BJP celebrated Vishwakarma Jayanti in Amaravati, coinciding with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday. State BJP President P.V.N. Madhav participated in a grand Vishwakarma Yagna at Uddandarayunipalem, the very site where Mr. Modi laid the foundation stone for Amaravati. Addressing the gathering, Mr. Madhav announced that a statue of Lord Vishwakarma would be installed in Amaravati, and reiterated Modi’s commitment to empowering artisan communities through schemes like Skill India and Vishwakarma Yojana.

Rajya Sabha MP Paka Satyanarayana and several BJP leaders stressed that Mr. Modi was the first Prime Minister to address the historical neglect of Vishwabrahmins and artisans. The celebrations witnessed wide participation from BJP functionaries, OBC Morcha leaders and district party units, who pledged to uphold the legacy of Vishwakarma in India’s cultural and developmental journey.
