A total of 25,03,842 voters will decide the outcome of the April 9 Assembly elections in 14 constituencies in Ernakulam district. The figure is from the final electoral rolls prepared after the deadline to enrol into the list ahead of the polls ended, District Collector G. Priyanka said here on Monday.

According to the latest list, there are 12,18,707 men, 12,85,108 women, and 27 transgender people in the district. The number of voters in fresh rolls has gone up by 34,048 from the list published on February 21 after the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter rolls. The newly added voters include first-time voters and possibly a section of voters who were excluded during the enumeration phase of SIR due to different reasons and could not make use of the opportunity for re-enrolment during the hearing and verification phases.
