Minister for Industries and Commerce T.G. Bharath said they are developing the Outdoor Stadium in the city with best available infrastructure. Mr. Bharath on Thursday laid the foundation for a synthetic walking track, and construction of pickle ball and volleyball courts with high-quality synthetic floors at a cost of ₹2.5 crore in the Outdoor Stadium. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Bharath said he used to play at the Outdoor Stadium and had now taken up development of the stadium. These development works will be completed in three months, he said.

Mr. Bharath said they are developing three sporting facilities with international standards at the Outdoor Stadium to hone the skills of the local sportspersons. He said that while the previous government neglected development of sports and its infrastructure, the NDA government under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is making all-out efforts to develop sports in the State.

Mr. Bharath added that the stadium, being constructed by Greenko at TIDCO housing complex, will be completed soon and another stadium is being constructed at the Summer Storage Tank. He said they are taking the support of Vijayawada MP Kesineni Shivnath, who is also the Andhra Cricket Assocation president, for the construction of stadia in Kurnool.

Kurnool MP Bastipati Nagaraju said he would give ₹15 lakhs from his MPLADS funds to develop grass in the stadium. He said they have plans to construct the High Court Bench on 10 acres of the 67 acres available at C-Camp, a new Collectorate, a park and other development works at the same place. He said they have received the approval from Mr. Chandrababu Naidu to take up the works and a IAS officer is likely to be appointed to oversee the works.

Kurnool Urban Development Authority (KUDA) Chairperson Somisetty Venkateswarlu lauded Mr. Bharath for developing the district.
