The Congress questioned the morality of BJP state president N. Ramchander Rao in burning the effigies of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, while the Centre had failed the country on the shortage of cooking gas, unable to handle the present situation.

In protest, TPCC working president T. Jagga Reddy burnt the effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “Is it a fault if the country’s opposition leader Rahul Gandhi, stages a dharna against the cooking gas shortage? Don’t rub Modi’s failures on Congress,” said Mr. Jagga Reddy.

Mr. Reddy accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of failing to secure oil and gas imports from Russia, under pressure from the United States. “If India had increased imports from Russia earlier, the present situation could have been avoided,” he said adding that Modi’s governent has succumbed to the U.S. pressures like never before in India’s history.
