Governor Arlekar appoints Vijayaram as State Information Commissioner

Tamil Nadu Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar on Friday appointed A. Vijayaram as State Information Commissioner in the Tamil Nadu Information Commission.

According to an official release from the Lok Bhavan, the appointment was made by the Governor under Section 15 (3) of the Right to Information Act, 2005. Mr. Vijayaram took oath of office before the Governor.

Mohammed Shakeel Akhter, State Chief Information Commissioner; State Information Commissioners and senior officials were present.

Separately, the Governor prorogued the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly with effect from March 13. The Assembly session commenced this year on January 20, said an official release from the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Secretariat.
