Air connectivity from Belagavi to major cities in India is expected be improved as private airlines are either starting new routes or strengthening existing operations from March 29.

Northern Karnataka will get direct flights to the two airports in Mumbai, a direct link to Indore in Madhya Pradesh, while retaining flights to Bengaluru, Hyderabad and New Delhi.

IndiGo will operate a new daily service linking Belagavi with Navi Mumbai as part of its summer schedule starting March 29.

Star Air will resume its Belagavi–Mumbai service from March 29. This service was operational earlier, but was stopped for some time.

Star Air will also run a new Indore–Belagavi service (three times a week) that will connect northern Karnataka with central India.

IndiGo will add capacity and increase frequency on the Belagavi–Hyderabad sector as part of the summer schedule.

With this, Belagavi would have at least eight direct flights to various destinations — Bengaluru, Hyderabad, New Delhi, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Mumbai (BOM), Navi Mumbai (NMIA) and Indore.
