Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced that the ground-breaking for the construction of ArcelorMittal/Nippon Steel (AM/NS)’s integrated steel plant in Anakapalli district would be done on March 23, 2026.

“The Kadapa Steel Plant works would begin soon,” he said, and expressed the government’s wish to complete them both by March 2028.

Addressing the inaugural session of the two-day Collectors’ Conference at the Secretariat in Guntur district on Wednesday (March 11, 2026), Mr. Naidu called for speedy decisions to give a tangible shape to the investment proposals without inordinate delays.

He insisted that the Collectors should take the responsibility thereof, and ordered that steps be taken to develop areas like Kopparthy and Orvakal into major industrial clusters.

Besides, he wanted emphasis to be laid on the establishment of an MSME Park in each one of the 175 Assembly constituencies.
