Joint Collector S. Ilakkiya urged women employees to be in the forefront of social service, in addition to the public service. Participating in the Women’s Day celebrations organised by the APNGGO Women’s wing at the APNGOs Home here on Monday (March 9, 2026), the Joint Collector said that women are playing a key role in their families and public services.

“The power of women is important in development of the nation,” Ms. Ilakkiya said. Women were scripting success stories in education, administration, business, science, games and sports and other fields, the Joint Collector said, praising women employees for their dedication in serving the public.

APNGGO Association State president A. Vidyasagar said that women employees brought laurels to the government with their achievements and good work.

The Joint Collector, along with APNGGO Women wing chairperson Nirmala Kumari, distributed prizes to the winners in games and sports organised in connection with the International Women’s Day.
