What began as a complaint from a businessman who had lost ₹2 lakh to a cyber fraud, ended with two police officers allegedly turning the victim into an accused and demanding a bribe to spare him from arrest. The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Monday (March 9, 2026) arrested two Armed Reserve (AR) sub inspectors posted at the Cyber Crime Police Station in the Malkajgiri Commissionerate for allegedly demanding and accepting ₹1 lakh from the businessman.

The accused were identified as Pramod Goud and Jatavath Babu Naik, both serving as Armed Reserve sub inspectors (SI) at the Cybercrime Police Station in L.B. Nagar. The victim, a 36-year-old businessman from Ramanthapur, approached the police after losing ₹2 lakh in an online fraud.
