Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy launched the State government’s 99-day special programme, Praja Palana – Pragati Pranalika, beginning the initiative from Hyderabad with the inauguration and foundation of two major infrastructure projects aimed at transforming the city into a world-class urban centre.

The Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for an international-standard trumpet interchange at Budwel and inaugurated the Eco-Hill Park at Kotwal Guda near the Himayatsagar reservoir.

The Budwel trumpet interchange project will connect the Outer Ring Road with Radial Road-2 and improve connectivity between Budwel Layout and the Rajendranagar region. Eco-Hill Park at Kotwal Guda has been developed over 85 acres and features nearly one million plantations.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Revanth Reddy said the government was implementing infrastructure projects worth nearly ₹24,500 crore within the Greater Hyderabad limits to improve road connectivity, develop urban infrastructure, and make the city more modern, sustainable, and liveable.

The city already has a 158-kilometre Outer Ring Road, and the government is now preparing to construct the 360-kilometre Regional Ring Road. The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority is preparing a Comprehensive Master Plan-2050 for the Hyderabad Metropolitan Region covering nearly 11,500 square kilometres.

The government has also taken up multiple elevated corridor projects to ease traffic congestion. Construction of a 5.5-kilometre elevated corridor from Paradise Junction to Dairy Farm Road has already begun. The elevated corridor from Paradise to the Shamirpet Outer Ring Road junction is being developed as part of an 18-kilometre corridor project.

Another major proposal includes a six-lane, nine-kilometre elevated corridor from Banjara Hills Road No.12 to the Gachibowli Outer Ring Road, which will provide direct connectivity to key areas such as Film Nagar, T-Hub and ITC Kohenur.

The government is also expanding connectivity through radial roads, including a 41.5-kilometre expressway from Raviryal ORR to Amangal RRR in the proposed Future City project at ₹4,621 crore. The Radial Road-2 project, stretching 81 kilometres from Kotwal Guda to Nacharam, will connect three major industrial corridors.
