Around 50 persons from Karnataka, who were stranded in the UAE due to the ongoing conflict in West Asia, arrived in Delhi on March 6 morning.
The passengers had boarded a flight at Fujairah in the UAE, and were received in Delhi airport by the Karnataka government protocol team.
The State Government said that the passengers were provided breakfast, and arrangements were made to transfer them to the domestic terminal of Delhi airport from where they would proceed to Bengaluru, Mangaluru and Hubballi.
The State Government said that many passengers were unhappy with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). Many passengers were disgruntled and complained to the protocol team that the MEA did nothing for them, and a local organisation had helped them with tickets and other logistics.
The State Government also said that Karnataka is the only State so far to provide this assistance at Delhi airport.
On March 6, an Air India Express flight arrived from Dubai while one flight is scheduled to leave for Dubai later tonight.
