Telangana Jagruthi founder K. Kavitha was taken into preventive custody on Tuesday while staging a dharna at Narsingi, demanding action against a large real estate project allegedly encroaching upon the Musi river.

According to police, around 50 people gathered near the construction site to protest against the multi-storey development. Kavitha, a former Member of the Legislative Council, along with four of her followers, was detained when they allegedly attempted to enter the project premises.
