Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that a helpline for Kannadigas stuck in war-hit West Asian countries would be started on Sunday. He said the State government had taken the security of all Kannadigas stranded in the West Asian countries like Israel, UAE, Iran, and Kuwait, seriously and reassured their families back home. The Chief Minister said he had already instructed the Resident Commissioner in Delhi to make all necessary arrangements for their safety.

Mr. Siddaramaiah appealed to Kannadigas stuck in these war-hit countries and unable to return home, as air traffic has been suspended.

Meanwhile, former Minister B. Nagendra had informed him of 32 people from Ballari stuck in Dubai, and measures were being taken for their safety.

MLC stuck

JD(S) MLC S.L. Bhoje Gowda has been stuck at Dubai airport while coming back to Bengaluru from Johannesburg, following flight disruptions due to the ongoing conflict in West Asia.

Mr. Gowda told a TV channel that they were made to disembark the flight and are now stuck at the airport.

Air India and IndiGo have suspended flights to all destinations in the region on Saturday in the wake of escalation of conflict in the region.
