The Sindhanur Town Police on Wednesday registered a case against three teachers of a private school for assaulting a student and cutting his hair off on Tuesday.

An FIR names Gyan Prakash, Swathi and Vishalakshi, all teachers at Holy Family, a private school in Sindhanur, as the accused.

According to the FIR, all three accused cut the hair off from fifth standard student’s head. Gyan Prakash punched him and Swathi assaulted him with a shuttlecock racquet.

They again assaulted the student when he informed his parents about the incident over phone, the FIR further stated.

After this, Mohammad Mustaf, who is the father of the victim, lodged a written complaint.

A case has been registered under Sections 75 and 82 of the Juvenile Justice Act 2015 and Sections 115(2) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Samhita 2023.
