The Thrissur District Congress Committee has strongly condemned the alleged attack on a Congress office in Kuzhoor, accusing the CPI(M) of orchestrating violence ahead of the upcoming elections.

DCC president Joseph Tajet said the Mandalam Congress Committee office at Kuzhoor was targeted without any provocation. He alleged that the attacks were part of a calculated attempt to disturb the peaceful atmosphere of the region in the run-up to the polls.

“The CPI(M) is deliberately creating unrest with an eye on the elections. Such actions will have serious repercussions in the district,” he said. Mr. Tajet alleged that the police adopted a supportive stance towards the attackers at the time of the incident instead of acting to prevent the violence.

In a related incident, the Congress office at Lalur was also vandalised. According to party sources, windowpanes were smashed and black oil was poured on the walls, causing damage to the premises.

Congress leaders demanded a thorough investigation into both incidents and strict action against those responsible.
