Taking exception to the State government not going ahead with recruitments to government posts as promised by the Congress before the Assembly elections, BJP State president B.Y. Vijayendra on Wednesday warned of a protest if the recruitment process was not initiated.

Addressing a press conference in Bengaluru, Mr. Vijayendra alleged that the Congress government was unable to go ahead with recruitments as it did not have funds owing to the financial burden of implementing the guarantee schemes.

He urged Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to place the truth before people of the State and tender an apology to them for not implementing the promise of recruitments.

He alleged that the Congress government had been lying about it being financially sound, but the fact that there were 59,000 vacancies in the Education Department and another 30,000 in the Health Department had exposed the reality

He described Mr. Siddaramaiah as “a pathological liar” and said while he has claimed of having filled up 40,000 vacancies, the government had replied in the Assembly that only 8,157 vacant posts had been filled.

The BJP State president recalled Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s speech at a rally during the Assembly elections in which he had said that 2.5 lakh vacant posts will be filled in one year of coming to power.
