Shivamogga District Chamber of Commerce and Industry will host ‘Beyond Bengaluru – IT’, an event to attract investors to Shivamogga, at JNNCE College on February 28.

“The objective is to ensure Shivamogga becomes an IT hub in another five years. At least 5,000 IT engineers should be working in IT firms in Shivamogga by 2030”B. Gopinath President, Shivamogga District Chamber of Commerce and Industry

Addressing a press conference in Shivamogga on February 25, Chamber president B. Gopinath said that the event would be organised in association with the Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI) and the Karnataka Digital Economy Mission. “The objective of the programme is to ensure Shivamogga becomes an IT hub in another five years. At least 5,000 IT engineers should be working in IT firms in Shivamogga by 2030,” he said.

Earlier, Shivamogga faced challenges as the city lacked air connectivity. “Right now, we have an airport. There are issues concerning the infrastructure. However, there is no dearth of talent. Investors should look beyond Bengaluru, the capital city,” he stated.

Shivamogga MP B.Y. Raghavendra will inaugurate the event at 10.30 a.m. in the presence of FKCCI chairperson Uma Reddy, vice-president Ram Prasad, and Karnataka Digital Economy Mission Vice-President Chetan Dixit. The ceremony will be followed by special talks by experts on AI and other technologies, he added.
