The Bhoothapuri Subrahmanya Sharma Memorial Trust and Allasani Peddana Sahitya Peetham will jointly observe the 89th birth anniversary of noted poet and ‘Sathavadhani’ Bhoothapuri Subrahmanya Sarma with an awards function at C.P. Brown Language Research Centre premises in Kadapa on March 1, 2026.

Sharma was revered as a great linguist, poet, philosopher, astrologer, and Vaasthu expert during his time. During his five decades of literary service, he produced works like ‘Paramartha Sri’, ‘Srimadandhrabhyudayam’, ‘Srikrishna Bharatham’, ‘Srikrishna Rakshanam’ and ‘Bhoothapuri Ramayanam’ etc., besides performing two Sathavadhanams and 180 Ashtavadhanams (Avadhanam is an ancient literary form exclusive to Telugu).

The ‘22nd Bhoothapuri Memorial Award’ for the year will be presented to K. Sarvothama Rao, who retired as the head of Telugu Department at Sri Venkateswara University, said a release by trust’s president B. Sivarama Surendra Sarma and Secretary B. Gopalakrishna Sastri.
