The health of veteran leader of the Communist Party of India (CPI) R. Nallakannu deteriorated, as he continued to receive medical treatment at the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital in Chennai on Monday. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin visited the hospital and enquired about the leader’s health with his family members and doctors.

Ministers Thangam Thennarasu and P.K. Sekarbabu and CPI State secretary M. Veerapandian were present during the Chief Minister’s visit. Earlier in the day, Mr. Veerapandian told reporters the veteran leader had been admitted to the hospital for the past 20 days. “As of now, his health is declining. Doctors are struggling,” he added.
