Prathap C. Reddy, founder and chairperson of Apollo Hospitals Group, on Friday (February 20) said India was steadily emerging as a global healthcare destination, driven by advanced technology, skilled manpower and a patient-centric approach.

Addressing the graduation day of Apollo Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (AIMSR) at Apollo Knowledge City here, he urged young doctors to uphold compassion, ethics and lifelong learning.

Dr. Prathap Reddy said Apollo has consistently pioneered modern healthcare in India, recalling that the country’s first CT scanner was installed at an Apollo hospital. Now, over 2,000 such systems are operational across its network nationwide. He said initiatives such as ‘Heal in India’, ‘Heal the World’ and ‘Heal by India’ aim to position the country as a preferred global hub for medical care.

NTR University of Health Sciences vice-chancellor Pulala Chandrasekhar emphasised clinical excellence and empathy. A total of 16 postgraduates and 166 interns received degrees.
