AIADMK spokesperson D. Jayakumar on Monday (September 15, 2025) said it was for the party general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami to decide on former Minister K.A. Sengottaiyan’s appeal to re-induct expelled leaders, adopting the “forget and forgive” policy of former Chief Minister C.N. Annadurai. Mr. Jayakumar called Mr. Sengottaiyan an “elder brother” and acknowledged that the latter had made “a particular remark.”

To another query by a journalist on the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) founder Vijay using images of the founders of the DMK and the AIADMK, C.N. Annadurai and M.G. Ramachandran, he said he did not see any issue in this. However, “let him [Mr. Vijay] not be under any illusion that the AIADMK’s voters will go to him. They will stick with us firmly,” he contended.

Separately, the party’s former interim general secretary V.K. Sasikala reiterated the need for unity among all members of the organisation.

In another development, former leader of the AIADMK’s parliamentary party P. Venugopal recently met Governor R.N. Ravi and submitted a petition addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, highlighting issues concerning Dalit Christians and other converts of Scheduled Caste (SC) origin. He called for an early implementation of reservation for them.
