The Thiruvananthapuram City police have registered cases against 92 people on the charge of drunk driving and against nine minors on the charge of violation of traffic rules and driving without necessary documents.

The offences came to light during vehicle inspections held on the directions of District Police Chief (Thiruvananthapuram city) K. Karthik at various places in the City police limits on Thursday.

As many as 988 big and small vehicles were inspected during the drive.

Action will be taken against those driving under the influence of alcohol and vehicle owners who allow minors to drive the vehicles, a statement from the City police on Thursday said.

Legal action was taken against vehicle owners for various violations found during vehicle inspections a few days earlier too.
