CPI senior T Srinivasa Rao addressing the AISF, Hanamkonda district conference at KU campus on Tuesday

CPI senior leader and former AISF national president Takkalpalli Srinivasa Rao slammed the Centre, alleging that it was attempting to hand over the education sector to corporate entities. The 2nd All India Students Federation (AISF) Hanamkonda district general conference was held on Tuesday at the Kakatiya University campus, drawing participation from student leaders and activists across the district.

Addressing the conference, Mr. Rao also said the introduction of self-finance courses and permissions granted to private universities, instead of filling faculty vacancies in State universities, made higher education increasingly inaccessible for poor and middle-class students.

Mr. Rao further alleged that both the Central and State governments contributed to the decline of public education through their policies.

The conference resolved to oppose what AISF described as anti-education policies, including the privatisation and saffronisation of the education system and the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP).

ASIF district president Utkuri Praneeth Goud presided over the session, while district secretary Bhashaboina Santosh and others spoke at the meeting.
