‘Safalam 2026’, a programme organised by the Society for Assistance to Fisherwomen (SAF), will be held at Gokulam Park Convention Centre, Kaloor, on Thursday.

Industries Minister P. Rajeeve will inaugurate the event at 12 p.m. Fisheries Minister Saji Cherian will preside. Hibi Eden, MP, will launch ‘Saff Coral Blooms’, the new clothing brand of SAF, on the occasion.

A beneficiary meeting of SAF also will be held on the day.

A documentary on SAF’s activities will be released at the event. Entrepreneurs associated with SAF for the past 15 years will be honoured on the occasion. Nearly 2,000 SAF beneficiaries are expected to participate.

SAF began its operations 2005 under the Fisheries department for the comprehensive development and empowerment of women fishers in the State. SAF has launched around 3,500 alternative livelihood micro-enterprises across the State so far.
