Three jail inmates, including two Pakistani nationals, allegedly escaped from a juvenile home in Jammu’s R.S. Pura on Monday (February 16, 2026).

The police identified the escapees as Karajeet Singh, a resident of Dablehar R.S. Pura, and Mohd Suna-ullah and Ahsan Anwar, both Pakistani nationals.

Initial reports suggested the incident occurred around 5:15 p.m. The trio allegedly assaulted the guards on duty and managed to escape from the facility. One of the accused also brandished a pistol to threaten the staff of the observation home. “The injured police personnel were provided medical assistance,” officials said. “An investigation has been initiated,” officials said.

Tracing the inmates

Officials said special teams were constituted to trace the escaped inmates. Multiple raids were also carried out at multiple locations to find the absconding inmates, they added.
