Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president Sunny Joseph said the Congress and the United Democratic Front (UDF) will come out with their first list of candidates for the upcoming Assembly elections shortly.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Sunday after an unofficial meeting of the Congress leaders, Mr. Joseph indicated that senior Congress leader K. Muralidharan may be in the fray.

The party will have to look out for a new candidate in the Thripunithura Assembly constituency since the sitting MLA and former Minister K. Babu had opted out of the race.

On a question whether he will be contesting this time, Mr. Joseph said there was popular demand for his candidature. “If the party high command insists that I should contest, I will be there,” he said.
