American semiconductor equipment company KLA Corporation, through its KLA India, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Tamil Nadu government for establishing a research and development (R&D) hub and innovation centre in Chennai with an investment of ₹3,510 crore. The MoU was signed in the presence of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin in the Secretariat in Chennai on Friday.

An official release said that the centre would be spread over a 12 acre campus. It is expected to generate employment for about 4,000 professionals over the next 10 years. Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, Minister T.R.B. Rajaa, Chief Secretary N. Muruganandam and senior officials participated.
