Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) president and actor Vijay is participating in TVK party functionaries meeting in Salem on Friday (February 13, 2026).

On Friday, Mr. Vijay is scheduled to address his party functionaries belonging to five districts namely Salem, Namakkal, Erode, Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri between 12 p.m. and 3 p.m.

Arrangements have been made at the meeting venue near Seelanaickenpatti where only 5,000 functionaries are to be allowed. On behalf of TVK, identity cards with QR codes have been distributed to the participants. There is no permission for the entry of party cadres or the public at the venue. Mr. Vijay will be reaching Salem airport from Chennai and will be travelling by road for about 17 km from Salem airport to the meeting venue.

On Thursday, the Salem City Police officials arrived at the meeting venue and inspected the arrangements. The TVK functionaries explained to the police that 5,000 participants have been divided into 20 batches and basic amenities like drinking water and toilets are arranged. Ten ambulances with medical teams have been kept ready at the venue.

The TVK functionaries urged TVK cadres not to follow Mr. Vijay while he is coming from and returning to the airport. Salem City police said that 800 to 1,000 police will be deployed for protection duty.
