A Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) driver has been suspended after a video showing him watching reels on his mobile phone while driving went viral on social media.

The incident occurred on Route No. 79 between Malavalli and Mysuru and involved Mahesh V., driver-cum-conductor (Badge No. 699) from the Malavalli depot, Mandya division.

Taking serious note of the incident, Minister for Transport Ramalinga Reddy directed immediate disciplinary action, terming the act a grave threat to public safety. The corporation has suspended the driver pending inquiry, according to KSRTC.
