Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said on Saturday that development and welfare initiatives piloted in the Kuppam Assembly constituency had shaped Andhra Pradesh’s governance model and were now being replicated across the State.

Addressing Telugu Desam Party cadres in Kuppam during his three-day visit, the TDP national president said the party’s development-centric approach had withstood several hardships over the last four-and-a-half decades.

“Despite challenges, the Telugu Desam Party has remained resilient through strong grassroots ties and transparent governance,” Mr. Naidu said. He noted that the TDP-led coalition had secured an unprecedented majority in the recent elections, while the YSR Congress Party had failed to secure the status of Leader of the Opposition. “This verdict reflects the people’s faith in our governance, vision and credibility,” he said.

Stressing that sustained public engagement was vital to democracy, Mr. Naidu said, “Victories of this magnitude come only when leaders stay close to the people. By 2028, my political career will mark 50 years, guided by development and welfare. The TDP laid strong foundations for growth, and Vision-2020 remains a benchmark for forward-looking governance.”

Referring to economic surveys, the Chief Minister said they underscored the need for world-class cities such as Amaravati to drive India’s future growth. At the same time, he said, the TDP had transformed Rayalaseema into Ratnala Seema, with the region now ranking first in the country in horticulture production.

He said the performance of MLAs would be reviewed periodically to ensure accountability and urged party cadres to use technology to bridge gaps between the leadership and the grassroots by reaching out to households during both the explanation and implementation of welfare schemes.
