YSR Congress Party MLC and State general secretary Lella Appireddy has sought the intervention of the Andhra Pradesh Police, alleging a coordinated attempt to disturb public peace through the erection of false and defamatory posters in several towns across the State.

In a representation addressed to Director General of Police Harish Kumar Gupta on Friday, Mr. Appireddy said large flex banners containing misleading and inflammatory content, purportedly linked to the alleged TTD ghee adulteration case, had appeared at prominent public places in Vinukonda, Piduguralla, Darsi and Guntur. He alleged that similar posters were being planned in other districts as well, indicating a systematic and premeditated campaign.

The posters, he said, carried photographs of former Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, Y. V. Subba Reddy and Bhumana Karunakar Reddy, creating a false impression of their involvement in the case. Mr. Appireddy asserted that the supplementary charge sheet filed by the Special Investigation Team did not attribute any criminal role or responsibility to the leaders named in the posters.

Seeking immediate action, the MLC urged the police to register criminal cases against those responsible and take preventive measures to stop the spread of such material across the State.
