Death of one-year-old boy: police arrest father

The police have arrested the father of a one-year-old boy who died under suspicious circumstances earlier this month in Neyyattinkara. Shijil, the accused, has reportedly confessed to causing the child’s death by hitting him in the abdomen. Ihan, the son of Shijil and Krishnapriya Kanjiramkulam, had collapsed and died on January 16. The death had occurred allegedly after the child had consumed a biscuit given to him by Shijil. Following the incident, the Neyyattinkara police had questioned both parents.
