An overspeeding car rammed into a scooter from behind. As it fell, the car dragged the scooter for over 30 feet along with the scooter rider, leading to his death in J. B. Nagar on Thursday. The deceased has been identified as S. Guruswamy, 59, a resident of Thippasandra, who worked at a private firm.

On Thursday morning, Guruswamy was headed towards Cambridge Layout when a speeding car rammed into his scooter from behind. The car driver was allegedly overspeeding and, even after ramming into the scooter, could not control the car and dragged the scooter for a few feet before coming to a halt.

Guruswamy suffered severe head injuries, though he was wearing a helmet. He was immediately rushed to C. V. Raman Nagar General Hospital, but he was declared ‘brought dead’.

J. B. Nagar Traffic Police have arrested the car driver and have booked him for causing death due to negligence and for rash and negligent driving.
