The Kannur airport in Kerala has strengthened its international footprint with the launch of quick-connection services to London Heathrow, improving long-haul travel options for passengers from north Kerala and the neighbouring regions. IndiGo and Air India Express have begun connecting services via major Indian hubs, cutting transit hassles and travel time.
Air India Express now offers a daily Kannur-London Heathrow connection via Bengaluru. The Kannur-Bengaluru flight departs at 10.15 a.m. and arrives at 11.25 a.m., linking to Air India’s wide-body service to London departing at 2.10 p.m. and reaching Heathrow at 7.30 p.m. The return service leaves London at 9.05 p.m. arrives in Bengaluru at 12.20 p.m. the next day and connects to Kannur the following morning.
IndiGo is introducing Kannur-London Heathrow connectivity via Delhi from February 6, operating four days a week – Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday. The flight leaves Kannur at 6.05 a.m. and reaches Delhi at 8.55 a.m. and connects to the wide body Delhi-London service departing at 11.55 a.m. and arriving at 5.10 p.m. The return flight departs London at 7.10 p.m., reaches Delhi at 10.10 a.m. the following day and connects to Kannur by midnight.
Airport authorities said the new connections enhance passenger comfort with better seating, inflight amenities and higher baggage capacity, while avoiding multiple international transits. The services are expected to benefit NRIs, business travellers, students and tourists and boost inbound tourism to Kannur.
