Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi will attend a MGNREGA Chaupal in Rae Bareli on January 20 as part of the Congress’s nationwide MGNREGA Bachao Sangram, party general secretary (organisation) K.C. Venugopal said on Sunday (January 18, 2026).
An online review meeting of Pradesh Congress Committee presidents and party functionaries resolved to intensify panchayat-level outreach, followed by ward-level sit-ins, Assembly gheraos and zonal rallies. The party said the movement aimed to protect MGNREGA in its original spirit.
