A tourist bus was partially gutted in a fire at Thalakode near Kothamangalam on Sunday (January 18, 2026). No one was injured, as the vehicle reportedly caught fire while it was parked by the roadside after the passengers had alighted for refreshments.
The bus was carrying a group of tourists to Munnar, according to personnel of the Fire and Rescue Services in Kothamangalam, which doused the flames. The incident occurred around 9.30 p.m. A short circuit is suspected to be the cause of the fire, officials said.
