The second day of a three-day international conclave on ‘Generative AI and the future of education 3.0 organised by the Higher Education department and the Institute of Human Resources Development here witnessed in-depth discussions focussing on application of artificial intelligence across various domains and its future possibilities.

Delivering a talk on ‘AI and judicial informatics and law enforcement.” High Court judge Raja Vijayaraghavan V. spoke about the milestones achieved through the implementation of digitisation and e-filing in court procedures and explained how these initiatives made judicial processes faster and more transparent.

Telecommunications SP Umesh Goyal, talked about AI technologies being utilised by the Kerala Police in areas such as crime prevention, criminal investigation, cybercrime investigation, and maintenance of law and order.

In education

Roopa Maliakal, Responsible AI Specialist at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), said responsible adoption of AI in education demanded a careful balance between innovation and ethics.

She explained how AI was increasingly shaping the education sector through personalised learning systems, adaptive assessments and administrative decision-making tools. Drawing from industry practices, she mentioned that AI-driven personalised learning models had improved student engagement and helped institutions proactively address dropout rates.

Ms. Malaikal though raised concerns about academic integrity, algorithmic bias, privacy risks and the growing issue of cognitive decline caused by excessive reliance on AI tools.
