Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said his government is committed to restore credibility to public recruitment, asserting that government jobs are not merely employment but an emotional bond with the State.

Speaking after handing over appointment letters to Group-III candidates, he recalled the sacrifices made by students and accused previous regime of prioritising family and party interests over the future of Telangana’s youth – and neglecting government job recruitment for over a decade.

He also cautioned government employees against becoming tools of political parties and said he was fully aware of the concerns being voiced by unemployed youth at Osmania University and Ashok Nagar, assuring that job creation would continue to be a priority.

Referring to the functioning of the Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC), Mr. Revanth Reddy said Group-I examinations were not conducted for 14 years and nearly five lakh candidates applied for just 563 Group-I posts and a similar number for 731 Group-II posts.

Alleging irregularities in the conduct of examinations earlier, he said his government had completely overhauled the TSPSC by appointing people with integrity. Recruitments for teachers and Group-I, II and III posts were carried out responsibly and without errors. Despite attempts to stall the process, the government fought legal battles and completed recruitments, filling nearly 70,000 government jobs in the last two years.

The Chief Minister also spoke at length on education and skill development, expressing concern over declining trust in government schools. He said that while only 16 lakh students were studying in government schools while about 33 lakh were enrolled in private schools.
