Four drug peddlers were arrested and 29 kgs of ganja worth about ₹14.5 lakh were seized in two coordinated operations carried out by the Telangana Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE) Force along with local police in Kukatpally and Mahabubabad.

In the first case, two persons were intercepted in Kukatpally while attempting to transport ganja from Hyderabad to Pune. Following a tip-off, teams from the EAGLE Force, Kukatpally police and the Cyberabad Commissionerate’s Clues Team kept surveillance near metro pillar no. 800 towards Miyapur and detained the suspects as they were preparing to board a bus to Pune. A total of 21 kg ganja, valued at around ₹10.5 lakh, was recovered from two travel bags.

The accused were identified as Sachin Dilip Ranavare, 37, a driver from Saswad Rural in Pune district, and Laukik Ganesh Raut, 21, a painter from Purandhar in Pune district. Police said Ranavare had earlier been arrested by Rajendranagar police in July 2025 in a ganja supply case and was released on bail in December. After his release, he resumed drug trafficking and teamed up with Raut. Investigators said the duo procured the ganja from Berhampur in Odisha on January 12 and concealed it in their luggage for illegal sale in Pune. Both men were handed over to Kukatpally police along with the seized contraband, and further investigation is underway to trace their supply network and associates.

In Mahabubabad, the Warangal EAGLE Force, working with Mahabubabad Town police, arrested two persons from a bus stand and seized 8 kgs of ganja worth about ₹4 lakh. The accused, identified as Venu and Anil, both 25 and residents of Raghavapur in Peddapalli district, were acting as carriers in a wider drug trafficking operation.

On January 11, following Naveen’s instructions, Venu and Anil allegedly travelled to Kalimela, collected ganja concealed in college bags and began the return journey to Karimnagar. They were intercepted at Mahabubabad bus station during the joint operation. The seized contraband and the accused were handed over to Mahabubabad police for further legal action, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend Naveen.
