V.G. Manamohan, former State secretary and treasurer of the Kerala Sastra Sahithya Parishad, and Additional Director, Cooperation (Audit) department, passed away on Monday(January 12, 2025).
Mr. Manamohan was private secretary to T.M. Thomas Isaac when the latter was Finance Minister during 2006-11 and 2016-21. He has also served as the district secretary of the Sastra Sahitya Parishad.
In a condolence message, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan recalled Mr. Manamohan’s active role in the people’s plan campaign.
He had played an important role in taking forward the literacy movement, the people’s planning process an the health survey undertaken by the Parishad in 1987, the Parishad said.
Mr. Isaac, in a Facebook post, recalled Mr. Manamohan’s organisational skills. His death is big loss for progressive movements and a large circle of friends, Mr. Isaac said.
