The Congress party will organise a day-night protest in front of Lok Bhavan here on January 13 and 14, in protest against the Union government’s replacement of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) with the newly enacted Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (VB-G RAM G) law. The protest is part of a 45-day nationwide agitation launched by the party this week.

All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary (organisation) K.C. Venugopal, MP, will inaugurate the day-night protest at 10 a.m. on Tuesday. Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee president Sunny Joseph, MLA, will preside. Leader of the Opposition V.D. Satheesan, AICC general secretary Deepa Dasmunshi, Congress Working Committee members Ramesh Chennithala and other leaders will participate. The day-night protest will end at 10 a.m. on Wednesday.
