YSR Congress Party president Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday invoked Swami Vivekananda on National Youth Day to criticise the State government over the condition of youth in Andhra Pradesh. In a social media post marking the birth anniversary of the spiritual leader, Mr. Jagan questioned whether the present administration was enabling young people to achieve their goals.

The former Chief Minister alleged that the condition of the youth was grim due to major financial delays. He said fee reimbursement for eight quarters was pending and that financial assistance of ₹4,900 crore under Vidya Deevena and ₹2,200 crore under Vasathi Deevena had not been released. He further alleged that the monthly unemployment allowance of ₹3,000 had not been paid for the past two years and that online certificate courses had been discontinued.

Accusing the government of failing to honour the promises made in the 2024 election manifesto, Mr. Jagan said the future of the youth and the State was in peril. He urged the Chandrababu Naidu government to arise, awake, and facilitate the progress of the younger generation.
