The IFFCO Kisan SEZ in SPSR Nellore district is witnessing a surge of industries which will not only ensure balanced development of the district, but also address the local employment issue, said MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy.

He was speaking at the “P4 initiative” at Kothur BC Colony in Indukuripeta mandal of Kovur constituency, represented by his wife Vemireddy Prashanthi Reddy. The cremation facility is developed by BGR Mining Infra Limited under the P4 scheme initiated by the State.

He recalled that the Tata Power had recently announced to set up a huge power plant involving a financial outlay of ₹6,675 crore in the SEZ and thanked Minister for IT Nara Lokesh for his initiative. He said that the Tata Power’s plant coming up in 200 acres would provide direct employment to 1,000 workers.

Speaking on local employment, he said that the massive investment surge into the district would certainly help address the unemployment issue and prevent migration in search of livelihood.

The NDA Alliance government is also focussed on extending welfare schemes to the beneficiaries, through Deepam II, Thalliki Vandanam, Annadata Sukhibhava, Stree Shakti, Matsyakara Seva etc, he added.
