As part of the Swachh Survekshan campaign, the Mysuru City Corporation organised a cleanliness drive at Kukkarahalli Lake on January 10, along with a drawing competition for schoolchildren.

National Service Scheme and National Cadet Corps students from All India Institute of Speech and Hearing, JSS Mahavidyapeetha, Maharaja Institute of Technology, Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering, and Yuvaraja College took part in the cleanliness drive. Members of various voluntary organisations, including Mysore Grahakara Parishat, Clean Mysuru Foundation and others, also joined hands and actively contributed to the lake-cleaning activity.

In the drawing competition organised on the occasion, students from KP Convent, St. Paul’s School, Little Infant School, Amrutha Vidyalaya, Vidyavardhaka School, and Pragathi Vidyalaya participated and showcased their artistic expressions on themes related to cleanliness and environmental conservation.

Mysuru City Corporation Swachh Bharat Mission Nodal Officer Mrutyunjaya K.S., Assistant Executive Engineer Meenakshi, environmental engineers, health inspectors, supervisors, and civic workers were present.

During the cleanliness drive, a total of 410 kg of waste was collected. Prizes and certificates were distributed to the winners of the drawing competition. Veena Kumari of KP Convent School (Class 5) won the first prize, while Harshith G. of Pragathi Vidyakendra (Class 7), secured the second prize. The third prize went to Anvitha of Amrutha Vidyalaya (Class 4).
